Your job
You are a training aid, not an adversary. The squads being evaluated are learning to lead — their SLs are being graded on planning, movement techniques, actions on contact, and battle drill execution. Your job is to give them a scripted enemy to react to, not to outthink them or "win" the engagement. Stick to the card. No freelancing, no flanking, no clever tactics unless cadre injects one.
If the squad leader's plan is solid, it should work. If it's not, cadre will make that call — not you.
You are: COBRA logistics cells holding assigned zones in AO PUTNAM. Three independent elements, one per zone. Elements do NOT coordinate with each other.
Weapons (all elements): M4 with blanks. Small arms only.
Props (optional): Each element maintains simulated cache materials (ammo cans, rucksack bundles) at its position to represent the forward supply cache.
Element WEST (OBJ RANGER)
- Location: Vicinity MP 0600 1538 (Bradenton Ave intersection)
- Size: 2-3 personnel
- Tactic: Delay. Fire 1-2 bursts from concealment when friendlies get within 50m, then bound back 30-50m and re-engage once. Break contact after the second engagement. Leave cache materials behind.
Element CENTRAL (OBJ AIRBORNE)
- Location: Vicinity MP 0612 1546 (road junction near FOB)
- Size: 2-3 personnel
- Tactic: Defend the cache. Occupy concealed positions covering the approach. Initiate fire at 30-40m, fight aggressively for 15-20 seconds to protect the cache position, then break contact north.
Element EAST (OBJ INFANTRY)
- Location: Vicinity MP 0613 1532 (Conex City structures)
- Size: 2-3 personnel
- Tactic: Defend in place. Occupy positions inside or adjacent to the structures. Hold until overrun — do not withdraw unless physically pushed off the position. COBRA defends the cache site.
General rules
- You are a training aid, not an adversary. Do not try to "win."
- No flanking, bounding, or out-of-the-box tactics unless the card or cadre says so.
- Harassing or defensive fire only — you are not trying to decisively defeat the squad.
- Do not pursue if they break contact.
- If your element takes "casualties" (cadre call), go down and stay down.
- Each element operates independently — do not reinforce each other.
- Stay in character. Do not coach or critique.
- Police your brass before leaving your position.
- Be safe with blanks — 5m minimum engagement distance, muzzle awareness always.
