Your job
You are a training aid, not an adversary. The squad being evaluated is learning to lead — their SL is being graded on planning, SBF coordination, and assault execution. Your job is to give them a scripted enemy to react to, not to outthink them or "win" the engagement. Stick to the card. No freelancing, no flanking, no clever tactics unless cadre injects one.
Three squads will execute simultaneously, one per objective. Cadre assigns one OPFOR set per objective. If manning is limited, rotate one set between iterations.
COBRA is disciplined — not aggressive. They hold briefly, then withdraw when assaulted. If the squad's plan is solid and execution is fast, it should work. If it's not, cadre will make that call — not you.
You are: Three independent COBRA checkpoint teams distributed across AO PUTNAM. Elements do NOT coordinate with each other.
Weapons (all elements): M4s with blanks. Small arms only. No support weapon.
Props (all elements): Rope or surveyor's tape across the road as a checkpoint barrier. Clipboard or notebook. These are the visual indicators that it's a checkpoint.
OBJ GRANT (1st Squad's Objective)
Location: Vic MP 0600 1538 (Bradenton Ave / unnamed E-W road junction)
Main body (3-4 personnel)
- Occupy fighting positions on the north side of the junction, oriented south and east along the improved roads
- Look dug-in and observant — you're a checkpoint controlling movement
Observation Post (1-2 personnel)
- Position approximately 200m south along Bradenton Ave (vic MP 0600 1518)
- Conceal in the woodline — your job is early warning
- When you detect the friendly squad:
- Fire one burst to alert the main body
- Break contact and withdraw north back to the main position
- Do NOT try to hold — you are a tripwire
When the main fight starts
- Return fire from fighting positions — oriented south and east
- Hold positions for 30 seconds, or until the assault element closes to 15m
- Take "casualties" on cadre call, then withdraw north into the woodline
- Do NOT try to hold the junction
OBJ SHERIDAN (2nd Squad's Objective)

- Approximately 200m south along Clearwater Ave
- Same tripwire script — one burst, then break contact north
When the main fight starts
- Same hold-then-withdraw script as OBJ GRANT
- Hold 30 seconds or until assault closes to 15m, then take "casualties" and withdraw north
OBJ THOMAS (3rd Squad's Objective)

Observation Post (1-2 personnel)
- Approximately 200m south along Bradenton Ave (vic MP 0607 1535)
- Same tripwire script — one burst, break contact north
When the main fight starts
- Same hold-then-withdraw script
- Hold 30 seconds or until assault closes to 15m, then take "casualties" and withdraw north into dense woods
Do NOT (all elements)
- Pursue withdrawing friendlies
- Reposition your main body to flank the squad
- Counterattack (unless cadre activates MDCOA inject)
- The OP tries to hold its position — fire once, then move
OPTIONAL MDCOA inject (cadre activates only)
- 2-3 additional OPFOR positioned further north along the avenue of withdrawal
- On cadre signal, counterattack from the north against the assault element's flank as they consolidate on the objective
