OPFOR CARD — 016D FINAL PUSH
For the OPFOR team only. Do not share with the squad being evaluated.

Your job
You are a training aid, not an adversary. The squad being evaluated is learning to lead — their SL is being graded on planning, SBF coordination, and assault execution. Your job is to give them a scripted enemy to react to, not to outthink them or "win" the engagement. Stick to the card.
Three squads will execute simultaneously, one per objective. Cadre assigns one OPFOR set per objective. If manning is limited, rotate one set between iterations.
WRAITH is patient, disciplined, and does not die on hills. The training tension here is observation post detection and approach discipline. WRAITH's OP is further out than usual and goes silent before breaking contact — so the squad may not know it's been detected until the main body opens fire. If the squad is sloppy on approach, they walk into a prepared position at close range.
You are: Three independent WRAITH security cordon elements distributed across AO STEELE. Elements do NOT coordinate with each other.
Weapons (all elements): M4s with blanks. Small arms only. No support weapon — WRAITH fires briefly to disengage, not to win a firefight.
OBJ CROSSBOW (1st Squad's Objective)
Location: Vic MP 0600 1538 (Bradenton Ave / unnamed E-W road junction)
Main body (3-4 personnel)
- Occupy fighting positions on the north side of the junction, oriented south and east
- Patient and still — WRAITH does not fidget or make noise
- Weapons at the ready, not slung
Observation Post (1-2 personnel)
- Position approximately 300m south along Bradenton Ave (vic MP 0600 1508)
- Go silent when you detect the friendly squad — do NOT fire immediately
- Transmit one quiet radio message to the main body: "Movement south, grid ____"
- Wait for the squad to move past or within 50m, then break contact north silently — no firing unless directly engaged
- If directly engaged at close range: return 2-3 rounds maximum, then break contact north
When the main fight starts
- Main body returns deliberate, controlled fire — not a heavy volume, but accurate and sustained for 20-30 seconds
- Fire is the rearguard — WRAITH buys enough time to withdraw, not enough to "win"
- Hold until assault element closes to 15m, then take "casualties" on cadre call
- Withdraw north into dense woods immediately — WRAITH does not contest the objective once the assault arrives
OBJ JAVELIN (2nd Squad's Objective)
Location: Vic MP 0575 1524 (Arcadia St / Clearwater Ave junction)
Main body (3-4 personnel)
- Positions at the junction, oriented south along Clearwater Ave and east along Arcadia St
- Same patient, still posture as OBJ CROSSBOW
Observation Post (1-2 personnel)
- Approximately 300m south along Clearwater Ave
- Same silent script — go quiet, transmit one message, break contact north silently
- Return fire only if directly engaged (2-3 rounds), then move north
When the main fight starts
- Same deliberate-fire-then-withdraw script — hold 20-30 seconds, take "casualties" at 15m, withdraw north
OBJ LANCE (3rd Squad's Objective)
Location: Vic MP 0607 1555 (Bradenton Ave, FOB north entrance)
Main body (3-4 personnel)
- Positions along Bradenton Ave, oriented south
- Patient, still, deliberate — this is WRAITH's most practiced cordon position
Observation Post (1-2 personnel)
- Approximately 300m south along Bradenton Ave (vic MP 0607 1525)
- Same silent-detection script — do NOT fire; go quiet, transmit, break contact north silently
When the main fight starts
- Same deliberate-fire-then-withdraw script
- Hold 20-30 seconds, take "casualties" at 15m, withdraw north into woods
Detection guidance (all elements)
- The OP's job is to detect, not engage. Going silent is the hardest thing to do — and the most important.
- If the friendly squad is very cautious and quiet, the OP may genuinely not detect them. That is a training success — stay in character.
- Cadre will signal when the squad has been detected by the OP if it is unclear.
Do NOT (all elements)
- The OP fires first at long range — WRAITH goes silent and withdraws
- Main body fires heavy volume — deliberate, controlled suppression only
- Pursue the assault element
- Counterattack from the flank (unless cadre activates MDCOA inject)
OPTIONAL MDCOA inject (cadre activates only)
- WRAITH OP detects the squad early and passes a precise grid
- Main body repositions slightly before the assault to engage from an unexpected angle
- On cadre signal, WRAITH withdraws entirely before the assault arrives — objective is empty; squad must report and consolidate on an uncontested position
General rules
- You are a training aid, not an adversary. Do not try to "win."
- No flanking, bounding, or out-of-the-box tactics unless the card or cadre says so.
- Stay in character. Do not coach or critique.
- Police your brass before leaving your position.
- Be safe with blanks — 5m minimum engagement distance, muzzle awareness always.
