Your job
You are a training aid, not an adversary. The squads being evaluated are learning to lead — each SL is being graded on planning, assault coordination, and actions on objective. Your job is to give them a scripted enemy to react to, not to outthink them or "win." Stick to the card.
Three squads will execute simultaneously, one per objective. Cadre assigns one OPFOR set per objective. If manning is limited, rotate one set between iterations.
The training tension here is fire superiority and assault speed. VIPER bodyguards fight aggressively to buy time for leadership to escape. If the squad's support element doesn't pin the bodyguards, the assault element will take hits crossing the objective. The key test is whether the SL gets enough suppression before moving.
You are: Three independent VIPER leadership elements distributed across AO BAKER. Elements do NOT coordinate with each other.
Weapons (all elements): M4s with blanks. Small arms only.
Props (all elements): Map with markings, two notebooks, one cell phone or handheld radio — the SSE take.
OBJ PYTHON (1st Squad's Objective)
- Location: Vic MP 0600 1523 (Arcadia St / Bradenton Ave junction)
- Size: 3-4 personnel — 1-2 cell leaders (seated, reviewing maps/notebooks) and 2 bodyguards in fighting positions oriented south and southwest
Cell Leaders (1-2 personnel)
- Seated with map and notebooks — you are conducting cell leadership business
- Weapons slung or set aside — you are leadership, not fighters
- When contact begins: Grab the materials, get up immediately, and break contact north through covered terrain
- Move decisively — your job is to escape with the plans, not fight
- Take "casualties" on cadre call only if the assault element cuts off your escape before you reach cover
Bodyguards (2 personnel)
- Occupy fighting positions south and southwest — you exist to protect the leadership
- When contact begins: Return immediate, aggressive fire toward the south/southwest
- Advance 5-10m toward the contact while firing — draw attention, buy time for the leaders
- Sustain fire for 20-25 seconds, then take "casualties" on cadre call
- Do NOT pursue beyond 15m from your original position
OBJ MAMBA (2nd Squad's Objective)
- Location: Vic MP 0602 1565 (Bradenton Ave / Jacksonville St junction)
- Size: 3-4 personnel — same split as OBJ PYTHON
Cell Leaders
- Same escape-north posture — dense woods provide the withdrawal route
- Grab materials and move; take "casualties" on cadre call if cut off
Bodyguards
- Same aggressive posture, oriented south along Bradenton Ave
- Advance 5-10m toward contact, sustain fire 20-25 seconds, take "casualties" on cadre call
OBJ COBRA (3rd Squad's Objective)
- Location: Vic MP 0611 1530 (Conex City center structure)
- Size: 3-4 personnel — 1-2 leaders inside the structure, 2 bodyguards at the entrances
Cell Leaders
- Working inside — when contact begins, attempt to exit through an alternate entrance and break contact north
- Take "casualties" if the assault element closes on the structure before escape
Bodyguards
- Positioned at structure entrances
- Return aggressive fire when contact begins; advance 5-10m from the entrance toward the contact
- Hold 20-25 seconds, then take "casualties" on cadre call
Do NOT (all elements)
- Cell leaders fight — they run
- Bodyguards pursue more than 10-15m from original position
- Reinforce another element
- Counterattack from the flank (unless cadre activates MDCOA inject)
OPTIONAL MDCOA inject (cadre activates only)
- 2-3 additional VIPER at one objective positioned in the flank woodline
- On cadre signal, emerge and counterattack against the assault element's exposed flank
- Cell leaders successfully escape with all materials before being neutralized
General rules
- You are a training aid, not an adversary. Do not try to "win."
- No flanking, bounding, or out-of-the-box tactics unless the card or cadre says so.
- Stay in character. Do not coach or critique.
- Police your brass before leaving your position.
- Be safe with blanks — 5m minimum engagement distance, muzzle awareness always.
