OPERATIONAL PLAN / ORDER #003 / CODE NAME: "OPERATION ROYALTY"

CADRE / OPFOR NOTES

Complexity: Lower to Moderate | Recommended Phase: WALK (Blocks 3-4), RUN (Day Iterations)

Training Focus: Evaluates individual squad leader planning and decision-making. The PL issues the platoon OPORD; each SL conducts their own TLP for a squad-sized raid — isolation, support, and assault elements within the squad. Assign one evaluator per squad.

Evaluation Timeline: 75 min for TLP Steps 1-8 before SP. 60 min execution window. 15 min AAR.

OPFOR/Training Wrinkles:

Iteration Guidance: Mission command version — squad tasks state outcomes without prescribing layout or positioning. For scaffolded iterations, use 003-raid-a-bunker-detailed.md.

1. SITUATION

a. Area of Interest

AO HERRERA occupies the Bradenton Ave corridor of the Camp Blanding LTA (vic MP 0575 1523 to MP 0615 1565), bounded by Jacksonville St (N), Arcadia St (S), Clearwater Ave (W), and the FOB/Conex City perimeters (E). Area of interest extends north past Jacksonville St (potential REAPER reinforcement) and south of Arcadia St (likely withdrawal corridor).

b. Area of Operations

1. Terrain. Flat sandy pine/hardwood forest cut by a paved road grid (see LTA Grid Reference). Canopy and palmetto limit observation to ~50m off the roads; the road grid provides the only extended fields of fire and the only wheeled mobility.

2. Weather.

c. Enemy Forces. REAPER: Resistance Elements of Atropia's People's Revolutionary Front

REAPER forces have established small, distributed support nodes across AO HERRERA — observation posts, hasty caches, and a low-power relay station. These nodes enable REAPER freedom of action in the AO but are lightly manned and not mutually supporting. Each node is staffed by 2-4 REAPER personnel with small arms.

1. Composition. Three small REAPER nodes, each 2-4 combatants with small arms. Total 6-12 combatants distributed across AO HERRERA.

2. Disposition. REAPER nodes are dispersed across AO HERRERA at the central road intersection, the Conex City northeast building, and the southwestern road junction. Positions are lightly prepared — hasty fighting positions, concealment, or occupied structures — not fortified bunkers. Nodes operate independently with no lateral coordination.

3. Most Probable Course of Action (MPCOA). Each REAPER node defends its position with small arms when contacted, then attempts to break contact and withdraw once the assault element closes. Nodes do not reinforce each other. If overrun, REAPER personnel attempt to destroy sensitive materials before being captured or killed.

4. Most Dangerous Course of Action (MDCOA). REAPER nodes detect friendly movement early and alert each other by radio. A REAPER QRF from an unknown location reinforces one of the objectives. Nodes attempt to mass against a single squad while the others withdraw.

d. Friendly Forces

1. Higher Headquarters: A Co. 4th BN – 211th INF.

2. Mission. A Company destroys REAPER support nodes in AO HERRERA to disrupt enemy operations and enable follow-on maneuver.

3. Commander's Intent. Destroy small REAPER nodes across AO HERRERA to deny REAPER distributed support and freedom of action.

e. Civil Considerations

Civilians reside near AO HERRERA. Protect non-combatants and prevent collateral damage.

f. Attachments and Detachments

None.

2. MISSION

1st Platoon conducts raids in AO HERRERA NLT ____ in order to destroy REAPER support nodes and disrupt REAPER operations throughout the AO.

3. EXECUTION

a. Commander's Intent

Purpose: Destroy REAPER distributed support nodes across AO HERRERA to deny REAPER freedom of action and set conditions for follow-on operations.

Key Tasks: (1) Each squad destroys the small REAPER node at its assigned objective. (2) Each squad collects any materials of intelligence value found on the objective. (3) Squads consolidate after the raid and report findings.

End State: All three REAPER nodes destroyed, friendly forces consolidated, intelligence reported to higher, platoon prepared for follow-on operations.

b. Concept of Operations

1st Platoon conducts a decentralized raid operation across three independent squad objectives in AO HERRERA. Each squad moves to its assigned objective, establishes its own squad-level isolation/support/assault, destroys the small REAPER node, and consolidates. 3rd Squad is the main effort. Squad leaders select their own approach routes, actions on the objective, and withdrawal routes. Squads do not wait on adjacent squads; each executes its own actions on contact per SOP and reports.

c. Scheme of Fires

Priority of fires to 3rd Squad. Mortar support is available through company on request; any squad may request fires through the PL.

d. Tasks to Subordinate Units

1. 1st Squad (Independent Raid — OBJ COTTO):

2. 2nd Squad (Independent Raid — OBJ WHISKEY):

3. 3rd Squad (Independent Raid — OBJ ZULU) — Main Effort:

e. Coordinating Instructions

1. Rules of Engagement (ROE):

  1. PID required before engagement; engage only confirmed combatants.
  2. Use graduated response appropriate to the threat.
  3. Avoid civilian harm and minimize collateral damage.

2. Commander's Critical Information Requirements (CCIR):

Priority Intelligence Requirements (PIR):

  1. Civilians at or near an objective preventing planned fires.
  2. Enemy at an objective exceeds expected composition (reinforced or crew-served weapons).
  3. Obstacle or IED on an approach route preventing timely assault.
  4. REAPER massing against a single squad from multiple objectives.

Friendly Force Information Requirements (FFIR):

  1. Compromise of an assault force prior to actions on the objective.
  2. Casualty during an assault requiring immediate MEDEVAC.

3. Essential Elements of Friendly Information (EEFI):

  1. SP/LD times and locations
  2. ORP and objective locations
  3. Casualty status and combat strength

4. Reporting: SP/LD, In Position at the ORP/objective, SALUTE on contact, LACE on consolidation. Submit any captured-materials report through the PL after consolidation.
