OPERATIONAL PLAN / ORDER #003D / CODE NAME: "RAPID STRIKE"

CADRE / OPFOR NOTES

Complexity: Lower to Moderate | Recommended Phase: WALK (Blocks 3-4), RUN (Day Iterations)

Mission Summary: 1st Platoon conducts three independent squad raids on WRAITH intelligence collection nodes in AO CEDAR. Each squad destroys its own small WRAITH node (map board, photo position, or planning cell) and collects intelligence materials.

Training Focus: This OPORD is designed to evaluate individual squad leader planning and decision-making. Cadre should assign one evaluator per squad.

Destinations:

Actions on Objective: Each squad independently moves to its objective, destroys the WRAITH intelligence collection element (2-4 personnel), collects intelligence materials, and consolidates.

Evaluation Timeline: 75 min planning / 60 min execution / 15 min AAR.

OPFOR/Training Wrinkles:

NOTE: UAS/Counter-UAS injects are OPTIONAL and should only be used if authorized by the Commandant and incorporated into the approved POI.

1. SITUATION

a. Area of Interest

Clay County, Florida, in the vicinity of Camp Blanding Joint Training Center. AO CEDAR encompasses the area along the Bradenton Avenue corridor between Arcadia Street to the south and Jacksonville Street to the north, bounded to the west by Clearwater Avenue and to the east by the FOB perimeter.

b. Area of Operations

1. Terrain. The AO consists of flat terrain with sandy soils and dense pine and hardwood forests throughout. Thick vegetation and tree canopy severely limit observation and fields of fire except along improved roads and clearings. Visibility in the surrounding woods is under 50 meters in most areas. Bradenton Avenue runs north-south through the center of the AO, Clearwater Avenue runs north-south in the west, and Arcadia Street runs east-west in the south. Conex City sits on the east side of the AO with small structures providing concealment.

2. Weather.

c. Enemy Forces. WRAITH: Workers' Revolutionary Army for Independent Territorial Holdings

WRAITH has deployed intelligence collection nodes across AO CEDAR to systematically gather terrain intelligence, document key features, and develop operational plans for future WRAITH operations. Each node consists of 2-4 WRAITH analysts and security personnel. Analysts are documenting road networks, terrain, and key positions in annotated maps and notebooks. This intelligence represents significant threat to friendly forces if WRAITH operations proceed as planned.

1. Composition. Three small WRAITH intelligence nodes, each 2-4 combatants with small arms. Total 6-12 combatants distributed across AO CEDAR.

2. Disposition. WRAITH intelligence nodes are dispersed across the AO:

3. Most Probable Course of Action (MPCOA). Each WRAITH node defends briefly while analysts attempt to destroy the most sensitive materials — particularly annotated maps, operation plans, and photographic records. Nodes do not reinforce each other. Speed is critical: a rapid assault may overrun the node before full materials destruction.

4. Most Dangerous Course of Action (MDCOA). WRAITH nodes detect friendly movement early and successfully destroy all annotated maps and intelligence products before the assault. A WRAITH security element moves to reinforce the most threatened node. One node successfully evacuates its analyst team with key materials.

d. Friendly Forces

1. Higher Headquarters: A Co. 4th BN – 211th INF.

2. Mission. A Company destroys WRAITH intelligence collection nodes in AO CEDAR to deny WRAITH the terrain intelligence needed to plan future operations and seize WRAITH intelligence products to support friendly planning.

3. Commander's Intent. Destroy WRAITH intelligence nodes across AO CEDAR and capture WRAITH analytical products to both deny WRAITH operational planning capability and gain insight into WRAITH intentions.

e. Civil Considerations

Civilians reside near AO CEDAR. The WRAITH node in Conex City may be in proximity to civilians. Protect non-combatants and prevent collateral damage throughout the operation.

f. Attachments and Detachments

None.

2. MISSION

1st Platoon conducts raids in AO CEDAR NLT ____ in order to destroy WRAITH intelligence collection nodes and capture WRAITH intelligence products throughout the AO.

3. EXECUTION

a. Commander's Intent

Purpose: Destroy WRAITH intelligence nodes across AO CEDAR and capture analytical products to deny WRAITH the terrain intelligence needed to plan future operations, while gaining critical insight into WRAITH intentions.

Key Tasks: (1) Each squad destroys the WRAITH intelligence element at its assigned objective. (2) Each squad conducts a hasty SSE to collect maps, notebooks, photographs, and planning materials. (3) Squads consolidate after the raid and report intelligence gathered.

End State: All three WRAITH nodes destroyed, intelligence products collected and reported to higher, squads consolidated and prepared for follow-on operations, WRAITH operational planning disrupted.

b. Concept of Operations

1st Platoon conducts a decentralized raid operation across three independent squad objectives in AO CEDAR. Each squad establishes its own squad ORP, conducts leader's recon, sets a squad-internal support element, and assaults the WRAITH intelligence node. 3rd Squad is the main effort. Speed is critical — WRAITH analysts will destroy sensitive materials when contact begins; the assault must reach the node before full destruction. Squads do not wait on adjacent squads; each executes its own actions on contact per SOP and reports.

c. Scheme of Fires

Priority of fires to 3rd Squad. Mortar support is available through company on request; any squad may request fires through the PL.

d. Tasks to Subordinate Units

1. 1st Squad (Independent Raid — OBJ NEXUS):

2. 2nd Squad (Independent Raid — OBJ VERTEX):

3. 3rd Squad (Independent Raid — OBJ APEX):

e. Coordinating Instructions

1. Rules of Engagement (ROE):

  1. Engage only confirmed enemy combatants.
  2. Use graduated response appropriate to the threat.
  3. Avoid civilian harm and minimize collateral damage.
  4. Report civilian casualties immediately.

2. Priority Intelligence Requirements (PIR):

  1. Confirm WRAITH personnel count and weapons at each node.
  2. Collect annotated maps, operational notebooks, photographs, and any planning documents.
  3. Identify what terrain or objectives WRAITH has been documenting from materials found.
  4. Assess civilian presence at each objective.

3. Commander's Critical Information Requirements (CCIR):

  1. Enemy strength at any objective exceeds expected composition
  2. WRAITH analysts observed destroying materials before assault reaches them
  3. Compromise of an assault force prior to actions on the objective
  4. Any friendly casualty during an assault requiring immediate MEDEVAC
  5. Civilian presence at or near an objective preventing planned fires
  6. WRAITH security element moving to reinforce any objective
