OPERATIONAL PLAN / ORDER #014D / CODE NAME: "WRAITH HUNT"

CADRE / OPFOR NOTES

Complexity: Moderate | Recommended Phase: WALK (Blocks 3-4), RUN (Day Iterations)

Mission Summary: 1st Platoon conducts three independent squad deliberate attacks against WRAITH planning cells in AO CEDAR. Each squad destroys its own WRAITH planning cell and conducts a hasty SSE to recover operational plans and intelligence.

Training Focus: This OPORD is designed to evaluate individual squad leader planning and decision-making for a squad-sized deliberate attack. The PL issues the platoon OPORD, but each squad leader must conduct their own TLP. Cadre should assign one evaluator per squad.

Destinations:

Actions on Objective: Each squad independently establishes a squad ORP, conducts leader's recon, sets a squad-internal support element, assaults through the planning cell, collects operational plans and intelligence materials, and consolidates.

Evaluation Timeline: 75 min planning / 60 min execution / 15 min AAR.

OPFOR/Training Wrinkles:

NOTE: UAS/Counter-UAS injects are OPTIONAL and should only be used if authorized by the Commandant and incorporated into the approved POI.

1. SITUATION

a. Area of Interest

Clay County, Florida, in the vicinity of Camp Blanding Joint Training Center. AO CEDAR encompasses the area bounded to the north by Highway 16, to the east by the Starke city limits, to the south by the old railroad bed, and to the west by the pine forest edge.

b. Area of Operations

1. Terrain. The AO consists of flat terrain with sandy soils and dense pine and hardwood forests throughout. Thick vegetation and tree canopy severely limit observation and fields of fire except along improved roads and clearings. Bradenton Avenue runs north-south through the AO, intersecting Arcadia Street in the south and Jacksonville Street in the north. Conex City sits on the east side with small structures. Woodlines surrounding each objective provide covered approaches; visibility off improved roads is under 50 meters.

2. Weather.

c. Enemy Forces. WRAITH: Workers' Revolutionary Army for Independent Territorial Holdings

WRAITH has established three small planning cells across AO CEDAR, each working to develop operational plans for future WRAITH offensive actions in the region. Each cell includes 1-2 experienced WRAITH planners with maps, operational orders, and intelligence products, plus minimal security. The plans represent WRAITH's intended course of action — capturing them intact would be of significant intelligence value. Security is disciplined and will fight to buy time for planners to destroy sensitive materials.

1. Composition. Three small WRAITH planning cells, each 3-4 personnel: 1-2 planners (not primarily fighters) with operational plans and maps, plus 2 security in fighting positions. Total 9-12 combatants distributed across AO CEDAR.

2. Disposition. WRAITH planning cells are dispersed across the AO:

3. Most Probable Course of Action (MPCOA). Security defends while planners immediately attempt to destroy the most sensitive operational documents and withdraw. Cells do not reinforce each other. If assault is rapid, planners may not fully destroy materials before being overrun.

4. Most Dangerous Course of Action (MDCOA). WRAITH cells detect friendly movement early, fully destroy all operational plans, and successfully withdraw all planning personnel with remaining materials. A WRAITH security element positions to counterattack the assault element at one objective.

d. Friendly Forces

1. Higher Headquarters: A Co. 4th BN – 211th INF.

2. Mission. A Company attacks to destroy WRAITH planning cells in AO CEDAR to disrupt WRAITH operational planning and seize plans that reveal WRAITH intentions and future operations.

3. Commander's Intent. Destroy WRAITH planning cells across AO CEDAR and capture operational plans to both prevent WRAITH from executing those plans and to gain intelligence on WRAITH's intended future operations.

e. Civil Considerations

Civilians may be present near planning cell positions. Avoid civilian casualties and positively identify targets before firing.

f. Attachments and Detachments

None.

2. MISSION

1st Platoon attacks in AO CEDAR NLT ____ in order to destroy WRAITH planning cells and seize operational plans documenting WRAITH intentions throughout the AO.

3. EXECUTION

a. Commander's Intent

Purpose: Destroy WRAITH planning cells across AO CEDAR and capture operational plans to disrupt WRAITH's planning cycle and gain intelligence on WRAITH's intended future operations.

Key Tasks: (1) Each squad destroys the WRAITH planning cell at its assigned objective. (2) Each squad conducts a hasty SSE to collect operational plans, maps, and intelligence products. (3) Squads consolidate and report intelligence gathered.

End State: All three WRAITH planning cells destroyed, operational plans and intelligence products collected and reported, squads consolidated and prepared for follow-on operations.

b. Concept of Operations

1st Platoon conducts a decentralized deliberate attack on three independent WRAITH planning cells in AO CEDAR. Each squad establishes an ORP, conducts leader's recon, sets a support element, assaults through, conducts hasty SSE, and consolidates. 2nd Squad is the main effort. Speed is critical — assault before planners can destroy materials. Squads do not wait on adjacent squads.

c. Scheme of Fires

Priority of fires to 2nd Squad. Mortar support is available through company on request.

d. Tasks to Subordinate Units

1. 1st Squad (Independent Deliberate Attack — OBJ SIGMA):

2. 2nd Squad (Independent Deliberate Attack — OBJ OMEGA):

3. 3rd Squad (Independent Deliberate Attack — OBJ ALPHA):

e. Coordinating Instructions

1. Rules of Engagement (ROE):

  1. Engage only confirmed enemy combatants.
  2. Use minimum force necessary to accomplish the mission.
  3. Avoid civilian casualties and collateral damage.
  4. Positively identify targets before firing.

2. Priority Intelligence Requirements (PIR):

  1. Confirm WRAITH planning cell locations and security positions.
  2. Identify WRAITH operational plans, maps with overlays, and annotated documents.
  3. Determine what terrain and operations WRAITH has been planning from captured materials.
  4. Assess civilian presence near each objective.

3. Commander's Critical Information Requirements (CCIR):

  1. Enemy strength at any objective significantly different from the estimate
  2. WRAITH planners observed destroying or removing materials (accelerate assault timeline)
  3. WRAITH cell displaced before the assault
  4. WRAITH counterattack element approaching any objective
  5. Friendly casualty requiring immediate MEDEVAC
  6. Civilian presence preventing planned actions

4. Essential Elements of Friendly Information (EEFI):

  1. SP/LD times and locations
  2. Friendly unit positions and boundaries
  3. Intelligence collected on the objectives
